They don't give any indication that you should stop what you're doing and stop by the Earth bar. I gathered 1.2 million credits and wasted 3 hours thinking Jay would stop giving me the same two missions and give me something new. But it's hard to figure out that Jay will send you on an infinite loop trade mission and that you actually have to go back to Earth or the Wolf system to get some new info from the Bureau. It's actually really easy to get recruited on the Vell-os mission. The player assumes the role of an independent starship Captain making their way through the galaxy.
